Finn Pilcher

Finn Pilcher was born in Auckland and apart from spending a few years abroad in Hong Kong he has lived most of his life in Auckland. From a very early age Finn was always interested in making videos and funny skits with his cousins he would see every summer which then developed his love for films and cameras. At school he excelled in both Photography and Media Studies and loved doing it but once school had finished, Finn felt lost as he knew he wanted to pursue a future in doing what he loved, which was filmmaking but felt pressured to do something safe and easy. It wasn’t until he heard about South Seas from a friend where Finn realized his dream could become true. During his time at South Seas Finn chose to study camera lighting and audio in which he learnt so much throughout the year as well as being on professional sets and seeing how professionals work up close Finn developed a new knowledge and appreciation for everything that goes into making something. Finn continues to be open to everything that can help him learn and improve himself as a filmmaker aswell as person.
