• Milk harvesting.

• Assist with farm walks when needed and animal health. the apps i use/ can use are Dataflow II, GSM Trinket, Easy Area, ON Farm, Milksmart, Feed and BSC App (these apps are good to help with cow heath but I believe as a farmer it is also good to be able to pick up on some of these health issues too so have a good eye for detail)
• Monitor performance of staff and provide feedback.
• Manage the daily operations of the farm whilst the owners were away when needed. Part of that is also allocating and guiding the farm assistants in their jobs.
• Set up breaks and calculate feed amounts per cow/ herd size.
• I remain calm and professional in stressful circumstances.
• Can/ do feed out a number of different nutrients and sustenance for the herd like sileage, bales, kiwifruit, PK - palm kernel. (I have done this both on a feed pad and in the paddock)
• We currently use a Rotary shed to milk but have worked in a herringbone shed before too.
• Weed management is a big part of my job too. All paddocks are checked before and after stock have been in there as part of my routine paddock check.
• The farm I am currently on has cows with allflex collars.

Other Experience I Obtain Is

• I am also a qualified builder so have building and carpentry experience.
• I have worked in Agricultural Contracting previously.
• I have a strong work ethic and am able to manage myself and work time.
