The Team Leader – Revegetation Project is responsible for the safety, welfare, training and supervision of the Revegetation Project Team in Punakaiki. You will also be responsible for meeting planting targets and following instructed planting plans.

• Ensuring a safe and healthy place of work is provided and maintained for the planting team through diligent implementation of CVNZ Work Health and Safety systems and the monitoring of safety performance in their area of responsibility.
• Assisted in recruitment to build team of top performers.
• Evaluated team member performance against established objectives during regular reviews, offering praise for achievements or identifying areas requiring further development.
• Maintained an inclusive and diverse team culture, promoting respect and understanding among all members.
• Empowered team members by delegating responsibilities according to individual strengths and areas of expertise.
• Working alongside a small team of planters and making logistical arrangements for the efficient completion of project activities (planting of over 300,000 native trees) to meet project deadlines. This may include project scheduling, tool selection, plant selection and site maps, details of job specification etc.
• Building and maintaining team morale and motivation while responding to any issues raised
• Representing CVNZ in the general community by setting high standards of professional leadership and personal behaviour and demonstrating WHS and Workplace Best Practice are key priorities of the organisation.

Revegetation officer will contribute to the tree planting targets of the region.

• Manual handling – lifting, pushing, pulling, etc
• Use of hand and power tools
• Use of chemicals
• Walking to, from and on work sites over variable distances and terrains
• Exposure to adverse weather conditions, including sun, wind and rain
• Exposure to hazards of the natural environment, e.g., bites and stings
• Drive/ or be driven in a team vehicle for extended periods of time
• Working in locations that are remote from immediately available medical/paramedical services
