Adam Chambers

I worked for Jim as a painter and plasterer. Performing all tasks applicable to the industry. Mainly residential, but occasionally some commercial work. Jim was offered a job in the industry in Australia, and has recently moved his family there to take up that role.

After finishing up working for myself as a painter in Wellington, i decided to try delivering for Uber. I started in Wellington, then moved to Palmerston North for better delivery conditions ( roads, parking,weather etc) Unfortunately due the interest rate hikes and cost of living crisis, earnings dropped significantly. I was unable to maintain my car properly. Eventually the transition gave way, and i couldn't afford to fix it, or buy another one. This forced me onto the benefit.

I worked for myself doing property maintenance, painting and plastering. I had 1 main client who ran a rental business, whom had over 250 homes on her books. Unfortunately she decided to sell her business. The new owners didn't need my services, as they hd there own, who where also family members.

Im Australian and moved to Nelson in Jan 2010, with my then partner and her 3 kids. I got a job at McKenzie and sons, and worked there for about 3 years. Unfortunately the relationship ended, and i decided to move to Wellington for a fresh start. I worked for about 6 months with a Chinese painting organization, before going out on my own.
