Role function

This role reports to the director of Infrastructure and Cloud and focuses on Projects, automation, designing solutions and handling escalation coming from L3 Team.

Key Responsibilities

• Conducting Root Cause Analysis (RCA) for critical P1, P2 and P3 incidents and engaged in major Incident calls to swiftly diagnose issues and collaboratively implement effective solutions
• Deploying and Managing Active directory services within multi-forest/multi-domain infrastructure including configuring Domain controllers, GPO, DNS, DHCP & AD sites and replication
• Managing, troubleshooting and handling escalations coming from L3 Team
• Providing technical support to end-users, other IT Teams and mentoring L2 and L3 windows Operation Teams
• Engaging in Project work to minimize number of incidents and incident resolution time.
• Working with Microsoft to migrate serves to Azure
• Handling all Microsoft related technologies in organization.

Key Achievements

• Led Windows Operations teams and primary contact point for DR testing for entire organization from windows perspective and was responsible for overseeing all core infrastructure services
• DNS migration of entire organization during datacenter exit project
• Handled Obsolescence projects for EOL servers including 2008 R2 and 2012
• SME for System Center Orchestrator (SCORCH) and upgraded from base version to RU3
• Published and maintained comprehensive documentation in confluence of system upgrades, policies and provide KT sessions
• Implemented automated health checks and streamlined routine operational tasks to enhance efficiency and reduced manual workload. (SCORCH, PowerShell)

Role Function

Providing support for operational workload, adhering to ITIL best practices and handled escalations from L2 Windows Operations Team

Key Responsibilities

• Handled escalations from L2 and other IT teams.
• Administrated more than 1000 windows servers including both physical and virtual environments and maintain backup, disaster recovery and high availability solutions for BAU operations
• Administrated and configured AWS & Azure environments
• Worked with array of tools and platforms including ServiceNow and Remedy ticketing systems, Moogsoft, Bigpanda, Bitvise SSH Server, Domain time 2 and system Centre products
• Collaborated with Hardware vendors and other third part suppliers to maintain seamless production operations and minimal disruptions
• Monitored system performance metrics, identifying bottlenecks to enhance efficiency across entire server infrastructure.

• Designed inventory for all servers and their backup configuration and current backup status

Deploying and implementing solutions and providing post-sale support, for Microsoft, O365, Azure, VMware, Unix, and Citrix infrastructures across government and private enterprise clients

• Designed and Implemented Active Directory Infrastructure (2003, 2008, 2008 R2, 2012 R2, 2016 )
• Managed and provided L3 support for Exchange server environments in multiple customer sites
• Managed and provided L3 support for O365, AD, DNS, DHCP, WSUS, SCVMM, GPO, Backup, DR scenarios and Hyper-V virtualization technologies for more than 20 enterprise customers
• Designed and implemented Hyper-V virtualization solutions and Failover clusters

• Designed and deployed Exchange DAG and DR Exchange . (Exchange 2007, 2010,2013 & 2016) and CU-level upgrade and Exchange upgrade
• Installed and configured the DHCP Failover cluster & SCVMM cluster
• Involved in deploying CentOS 6.7 and Zimbra mail server 8.6

Joined DMS as an Intern as a requirement of my degree in IT Major in University of Colombo, Faculty of Science

Key responsibilities

• Served as a dedicated and supportive Intern in a fast-paced environment.
• Observed and Knowledge Transition was acquired during the Intern period
• Engaged in Microsoft, VMware, Citrix, and Linux deployments.
