Family influence:

I grew up in a family where sports were not just an activity but a way of life. My father, the former coach of the national field hockey team, ingrained in me the values of sportsmanship and teamwork. My mother, the cornerstone of our home; my sister, who has been my steadfast support system akin to a soulmate; and Bread, our family's retriever, who adds joy to our household, have significantly influenced my upbringing. They've instilled in me the invaluable support and love that family provides.

Educational and experiential foundation:

From a young age, influenced by my father, I trained in sports like kendo, judo, and hapkido, which honed my inner strength and physical endurance. My educational journey took an international turn with a short-term study abroad experience in China during my middle school years. This period was pivotal in teaching me the importance of understanding and embracing different cultures. Initially, I pursued art in college but eventually switched to a major in Chinese language, culminating in a degree in this field.

Journey of challenge and overcoming:

Following my military service, my sister and I embarked on a community-building venture by opening a coffee shop. This endeavor went beyond business, fostering a sense of community. However, in 2019, my path took an unexpected turn due to a severe traffic accident, leading to more than ten surgeries and two years of hospital care. Despite predictions of a five-year recovery period, my determination expedited my rehabilitation, allowing me to recover in three years, never allowing despair to cloud my journey.

A new start and current vision:

Triumphing over adversity, I am now pursuing a dream that once seemed out of reach: studying abroad in New Zealand. As I approach the completion of my first year at Massey University, my dedication to my studies in construction is unwavering, with the aim of becoming a quantity surveyor. My ambitions transcend professional success; I aspire to be a contributor to the sustainable evolution of the construction industry. My goal is to promote cost efficiency and sustainability in construction while balancing economic worth with social responsibility. I am committed to overcoming any hurdles to fulfill these goals.
