During my 4-week placement at Gracedale Retirement Home, I gained hands-on experience in geriatric nursing care, focusing on hoist utilization, protocols, medication administration, and assessment skills. I learned to conduct pain, abdominal, respiratory, and neurological assessments, as well as wound care management. Adhering to strict documentation practices, I ensured accurate recording of clinical interventions and resident interactions. Engaging residents in social activities during a road trip enriched their well-being.
