Working as a stock picker for Harvey Norman I learnt how to operate a forklift safely and efficiently. Some main points and roles of the job included:

• Operating manual and electric pallet jacks, safely relocating heavy merchandise on sales floor for timely stocking.
• Moving products using forklifts, pallet jacks and hand trucks.
• Maintaining effective team member communication.
• Placing products in correct locations to keep stock areas organized and inventory counts accurate.
• Following orders precisely for correct items, sizes and quantities.
• Unloading, sorting and stocking products according to store layout and product placement.

During my time working at Stockton i had the role of a haul truck operator. I mainly operated heavy machinery such as Rigid CAT 777F, 777Ds, 773s and Volvo A60 Wrigleys. The material that I hauled mainly consisted of Rock as well as many different types of Coal. The Skills I learned from this job were very beneficial such as:

• Operating with safety and skill to avoid accidents and delays.
• Manoeuvring trucks to correct locations for material drops, working with large equipment operators to correctly position loads for best distribution.
• Inspecting truck equipment and supplies such as tires, lights, brakes, gas, oil and water.
• Communicated with dispatchers and other office personnel to handle two-way updates and adjust daily schedules.
