  • August- Transition Placement: Radiology Department: North Shore Hospital (9 weeks) Present Skills developed: Handovers given to transit nurses and taking handovers, removal of IV line, Preparing IV medications for procedures and taking constant Observations during major biopsy’s, flushing IV lines, PICC lines, Mid lines and Power ports for CT scans, and teaching patients on how to care for their wounds after a biopsy as an outpatient.
  • May-June 2021 Outpatients Department: North Shore Hospital (3 weeks) Skills: Completing wound dressings, Removing sutures and staples, inserting a indwelling catheter, using a ultrasound on a patients bladder, providing emotional support for outpatients during appointments.
