Up until recently, From the age of 17, iv been working along side my Farther renovating big scale projects such as Benestone manner ( Sparrowpit Uk), Riber Castle (Uk) and The Cupola (Stoney Middleton UK). During my time working on these various project i was able to develop lots of different skills including tilling, building bar tops, concreting, tanking & insulating, painting and decorating, stud walling & plaster boadring and various other on site jobs. I believe that I operate best during physical labor.
At the start of the season i was on night shift. This meant that i would be working from 12:00am - 12:00pm. Our main tasks were to snowboard to each gun on the mountain switching them on as the team descend down, however, turning the guns on was on possible if the temperature were cold enough. Sometimes if the wind was really strong we would have to be doing constant laps around the mountain redirecting the guns in order for the snow to land in the right spots. as the night slowly came to an end we would have to drain all of the water hoses so the that wouldn't freeze. By about 11:00am we would start to head down the mountain and get ready to go home, leaving the mountain ready for the crew to start at 12:00pm. I was eventually moved to day crew. This involved cleaning, fixing and de icing the snow guns preparing them for start to up which normally is around 6:00pm-7:00pm depending on temps. Then the cycle repeats.
