Summary

Personal Summary I always had interest in machines when I saw how they operate and constructed the product, making it convenient for the job and sustainable to the environment. Soon I found out it was related to Mechanical Engineering. After a few years of studying in Mechanical Engineering, I felt very satisfied and excited going through the process of spending hours designing and building the products. I have accomplished 3 group projects and one internship for the past few years. During my internship, I was working at a Property and Facility department mainly doing research, calculation and study for the project.

  • Understanding the structure and function of Lift, Escalator, Pumps and Chiller system for Buildings
  • Calculations of Performance to Chiller and Chiller Plant COP and Efficiency Assessments
  • Research and conduct a chiller test for chillers based on log sheet data
  • Analyze abnormalities for chiller data and create psychrometric chart
  • Understanding the whole chiller system (Cooling tower, chiller, AHU and sensor placement)
  • Conducted feasibility studies, concept generation, and detailed design analysis for Chiller Water Pressurization System (Pneumatics Transfero)
  • Understanding thermodynamics principles and HVAC system, piping system, turbines, and pump design

  • We managed to lower the heat balance to within the +-5% range through finding out an error in the calculation system in the control system

-Able to communicate with all the team members and report back to the project manager about the project’s progress

-During my internship, I was working with another mechatronic student when analyzing the chiller problem He was working on the sensor, whereas I was working on analyzing abnormalities for chiller data

Time management

-I was given 2 weeks to analyze the Pneumatic Transfero inside the AHU room, I managed to find out what all the components are and drew a line drawing within 1 week

Leadership

-I was the leader and coach for my badminton team during high school

-Proficient in CAD software (SolidWorks, AutoCAD) for 3D modeling and design

Hobbies and Interests

  • Sport – I enjoy playing badminton with my friends during my free time. I will find time to go to the gym to keep my life and schoolwork balanced.
  • Music – I enjoy listening to music after studying.

Projects

Boat Project- Year 1, -Participated in a group member of 5. I was involved in designing and construct the boat steering. It performs 180 degrees turn during the relay. Nutcracker - Year 2, -This project required SolidWorks and constructive process for the nutcracker machine. We produced a fast and efficient machine that cracks 20 nuts under 40 second, came top 3 among the 10 groups. Apple sorter machine – Year 3, -Design and construct the sorting apple mechanism where it sorts the apples by size and place into the requirement boxes. It sorted most of the apples on the showcase.
