Amanda Ross

Papakura,New Zealand

Summary

Kia Ora. I have a passion for working with tamariki and have done for as long as I have known. I have a bachelor’s in Early Childhood Education which I completed through New Zealand Tertiary College.

I completed my degree in 2017 and then completed my registration in 2020. I also renewed my First Aid Certificate at the beginning of 2022.

I have a love of learning and have recently completed a certificate in Tikanga Maori which has deepened my understanding of carrying out tikanga practices within all settings including early childhood centres. This provided with a clearer understanding of Te Tiriti Waitangi and the ability incorporate te reo Maori me nga tikanga Maori into everyday practices in a more competent and natural way.

I have a strong understanding and knowledge of Te Whariki and implementing and interweaving the living document into every day practices, planning for and with the children and learning stories. I am a strong team player and work well with all people of mixed ethnic groups, ages and backgrounds. I am also able to confidently work on my own independently.
