Summary
I have always known that I have wanted to help people and connect with them, and this has led me to know that I want to peruse a career in nursing. Over the course of term 2 of 2025, I undertook a gateway programme through my school which led me to a 9 week placement at the Gisborne Hospital one day a week. Through this programme I was able to shadow nurses and learn a few skills which really solidified my desire to peruse a career in nursing.
