• Responsible for management of Accounting/Finance function for Sime Darby Commercial group.
• Manager and develop clerical team
• Maintain and develop the General Ledger ensuring it's effectiveness to achieve both internal management and Parent reporting.
• Develop and maintain efficient loading of ERP data into parent reporting portal.
• Maintain excellent relationships with various stakeholders, staff, colleagues, Management at all levels.
• Worked with accounting staff to efficiently coordinated month-end closing and reporting activities
• Evaluated and approved journal entries, helping to keep accounts current and accurate
• Provided financial reports and interpreted financial information to managerial staff while recommending further courses of action
• Established and enforced operational policies and procedures to maintain efficient and effective accounting operations
• Verified account reconciliations and monitored general accounting work to keep team on-track with daily and monthly functions
• Complied with established internal controls and policies

• Manage the Accounting / Finance function - direct manager of both the Accounting teams as well as the Clerical team.
• Encourage and support accountants in maintaining their required CPD hours.
• Recruit new staff and manager their on boarding.
• Management the group Bonus calculations as measured against their individual (approx 45 executives) KPI's.
• Prepare Annual budgets and and quarter forecast in collaboration with the various subsidiaries General and Senior manages.
• Assist Group General manager in preparing the M-plan - specifically the financial sections - including the budgets 4 years from current budget year.
• Be the Financial/Accounting representative in the implementation of new ERP system (Autoline).
• Attend training course in Malaysia for the change in reporting package (BPC) to overseas parent company.
• Train NZ based accounting teams in the use of the new package (BPC)
• Implement a procedure to load into BPC directly from ERP (in conjunction with software supplier), once ERP changed to develop a process to efficiently load BPC with monthly results in a timely manner.
• Assist group GM and subsidiary GM's with internal audit reporting, and help implement any changes required.
• Manage / assist with External audit.
• Implement electronic (excel based) Balance sheet reconciliations rather than the historically paper base. Review all subsidiaries Balance Sheets, identifying / escalating any issues, new or ongoing.
• Quite a lot of other activities .

• Calculation and payment of FBT, GST. Assist with a couple of IRD audits.
  
• Stocking on of Trucks in ERP system.
  
• Liaise with company's bank and arrange Finance as and when needed; Trade Finance - term loans based upon cash flows need to purchase Trucks, MOCL - Multi option Credit Limit - day to day borrowing.
