• AVERT (Akatarawa Valley Emergency Response Team)
• I was the Team Leader for our Valleys Rural Emergency First Aid Team
• This team consist of approximately fourteen first aid volunteers who assist at accident scenes in the Akatarawa Valley
• As Team Leader it was my responsibility to coordinate, lead and direct the unit
• I was also responsible for the training and up-skilling of the volunteers.

• Ward 16 is a 30-bedded ward
• It takes general medical patients and specializes in caring for patients with HIV
• The aim of the ward is to assist individuals in regaining or maintaining a state of optimum physical, mental, spiritual and social well being
• Care is carried out independently or in collaboration with other professions and disciplines
• The following outcomes in which the ward aim to achieve are: -Recovery from disease and ill health -Promotion of health through education -Maintaining the individuals independence and autonomy -That the process of dying being peaceful and pain free and provide support to relatives/whanau and friends throughout.

• My position and placements are varied including the medical ward, and the ABI (Acquired Brain Injury) unit at the Hutt Hospital
• Along with various aged- care facilities in the Hutt Valley
• I have enjoyed working as a casual nurse
