  • For past 6 seasons a member of the Vet Technician team doing Dry Cow Therapy and Teat Sealing from April to June each year. Due to Covid and staff sickness I ran a crew of 4 to 6 people for 3 weeks in May 2022. In August 2024 joined the Technician Team for 2 months to disbud calves.
  • These positions are part of a tech team providing the very best practices in a very short period of time due to the cyclical nature of dairying
  • Effectively administering Teat seal, Dry Cow therapy and local anaesthetic to vet industry standards
  • Assisted in trailer and shed setups, ensuring all equipment and PPE was clean to vet industry standard and supplies restocked daily
  • Trained first year technicians in our specific setup and work routines
  • Driving vet vehicle when required

Calf Rearer

  • Head Calf rearer for 10 seasons from August to November/December rearing approx 900 calves annually, rearing from birth through to weaning. Reared for 2 seasons sole charge 6 days per week for 12 weeks
  • Responsible for managing the calf rearing shed and communicating with other farm staff members to provide the very best care for calves in an extremely busy and stressful time in the farming year
  • Provided training for new staff members in calf rearing techniques, protocols, and safety procedures.

  • Farmed with husband, Beef, Stud Beef and Dairy Grazing. Helped setup Cattle Stud in 2008 whose primary business was selling bulls and frozen genetics into the Dairy Industry and selling purebred genetics in both NZ and overseas from 2008 to 2023.
  • Coordinated the sale, dispatch and follow up customer support of all genetic sales in both New Zealand and overseas. This required a high degree of organisation and understanding of the processes involved so customers could receive their product for mating deadlines.
  • Attended South Island Field Days, organised all advertising and marketing material and managed the site for 3 days to promote products to attract new customers and support our existing customers.
