In my permanent role, I took on greater responsibility for delivering consistent, high-quality care and fostering a positive learning environment for tamariki. I strengthened meaningful connections with tamariki and whānau, promoting a culturally responsive, safe, and inclusive setting aligned with Te Whāriki and centre guidelines. I actively collaborated with the teaching team to contribute to planning, assessment, and documentation of children’s progress, incorporating cultural values, Te Reo Māori, and Pasifika languages.
Worked full-time covering maternity leave, providing consistent care and fostering learning for tamariki in accordance with Te Whāriki. Gained comprehensive knowledge of centre policies, procedures, and compliance standards. Completed First Aid certification and actively participated in professional development workshops. Supported daily routines including nappies, sleepers, and meal times, while facilitating meaningful and developmentally appropriate learning experiences.
