The important thing I have found myself to value the most is the love I have for my family especially my son. A genuine interest in customer service and making my customers feel welcomed. I believe this has made me a bubbly polite and positive person who enjoys helping others and being a team player. I consider myself a committed person who is driven to peruse my long-life term goals and be successful in my work. Learning new skills is a challenge I am always up for as this motivates me to maintain.
My role at Family Planning as a customer service representative was to assist my clients with their sexual health such as booking appointments for contraception, STI, contraception procedures etc; I learnt to navigate through INDICI and our booking application as well as making sure I leave notes on file if needed with each individual call I take.
My role at MSD as a Customer Service Representative was to assist clients with their financial request, inquires, updating their account information in needed and making sure to write detailed notes about each and individual call I took throughout the day. I learnt how to navigate through different work software’s.
I was also apart of the Team event managing – helped manage events throughout the year, delivering news for the events in our team meetings.
My role in Pagani was looking after the store by making sure all garments were neat and tidy giving the store a presentable look for when our customers walk in and always making sure our customers are happy and comfortable. Being able to work for Pagani has been a pleasant experience, I was able to learn many ways of how to handle customers in any situation possible within the retail business in which I am very grateful for as I can use this experience within my future workplace.
Working with H&M I had a great diverse experience, working within the different department’s women's, men's, kids, the changing rooms as well as out back sorting out the delivery clothes for the floor. Also enjoying the sense of being able to help my customers look for clothes they really want and feel excited to work for a brand that I always wear.
I enjoyed working at the kebab takeaway as I was able to interact with my local community knowing we are just a small town. I enjoy the business itself and the teamwork between me and my colleagues. I have learnt more about food handling as I was directly dealing with it.
As our small takeaway shop gets busy by the day, I had learnt more patience and to work under pressure when there was a lot of demand for food portions.
Cabbage tree café was my first hospitality experience, and I got to know more about the hospitality industry than I had expected with how fast the work pace can be, dealing with customers face to face and having to solve situation first hand. Through this role I appreciated gaining the knowledge about hospitality and getting to interact with people from all over the world.
Working at the Florist was my first retail experience. My role was to keep the shop tidy, clean and to deliver customer service. I considered my role to pleasurable and entertaining as it kept me active and being able to watch and learn from my store owner make flower bundles and flower bracelets for when school balls were on. I enjoyed being able to go on delivers with my boss Hazel, as we delivered the flower to our customers on their front door and watching their faces light up with joy.
Tuscany road was my second casual retail experience to help the owner look after the shop while she was running errands. Through my good cleaning skills at Putaruru Florist I was also able to serve customers and help them look for different styles.
In year 12 I got the opportunity to go to a daycare and be able to look after children one day a week for 12 weeks through my high school, Putaruru College for "Work Experience", It was an amusing time for me as it wasn't what I had expected looking after kids however I really loved spending time there and watching their creative minds expand with fun and knowledge.
