A motivated and adventure loving individual, I am currently looking to expand my personal skills and outdoors experience in a challenging environment and around a knowledgeable team. Originally from Wellington, I spent my final year of school in Wanaka on the Mt Aspiring Outdoor Education programme. Currently I am studying outdoor education at Tai Poutini Polytechnic in Greymouth on the West coast, this course has provided me with a large range of transferable skills that I believe will be beneficial to the Castle Hill Outdoors Centre team. Teaching and instructing others is an activity which I've always enjoyed. I'd love to combine this passion with the skills i've gained from Polytech to help to inspire and motivate kids to find their own love for the outdoors.
Communication:
During my time at Fergs Kayaks Wellington I was involved in shop floor operations, safety management and instructing. These areas involved specific communication mainly related to safety in order to keep people safe and having fun while rock climbing.
Team Work:
Tai Poutini Polytechnics Diploma in Outdoor and Adventure Education course revolves around teamwork and how to lead others in an outdoors setting, over my two years in Greymouth i've developed the ability to work well with a variety people and personalities.
Leadership:
Tai Poutini Polytechnics Certificate in Outdoor and Adventure Education focuses on leadership skills and guiding in the outdoors, throughout the year i've been
put in leadership positions involving multiple pursuits from tramping to white water kayaking.
