Arsalah Azimi - I am a highly driven and ambitious self driven person with a will to succeed ni life. Ihave been told Ibuild strong positive relationships between staff members as well as customers with ease. I am known to be a very energetic person who loves to motivate others and strive for the best. I am a confident person and have the ability to learn new skills quickly.
As a recent graduate in Electrical Engineering from Auckland University of Technology, I am passionate about applying my technical expertise and practical experience to real-world engineering challenges. My academic journey, combined with hands-on project work and internship experience, has provided me with a strong foundation in circuit design, system integration, and troubleshooting. I am eager to contribute my skills in electrical design to a dynamic team, with a particular interest in advancing energy-efficient solutions and innovative engineering projects.
FINAL YEAR PROJECT
Design and Construction of a DC Machine
Auckland University of Technology, 2019
For my final-year project, I independently designed and built a functional DC machine, demonstrating both my technical knowledge and my ability to manage complex projects from start to finish. I was responsible for sourcing all necessary components, assembling the machine, and conducting performance testing under various load conditions. I worked closely with my supervisor, who provided valuable mentorship in refining the design and testing protocols. Through this project, I gained practical skills in system integration, data collection, and analysis, and developed a deeper understanding of electrical machine efficiency and optimization.
• Designed and constructed a fully functional DC machine from scratch, overseeing the entire process from component sourcing to final assembly.
• Sourced all materials (motors, brushes, armatures) from local suppliers and online platforms to meet project specifications.
• Collaborated with my supervisor, who guided me in advanced motor control theories and testing methods.
• Gathered and analyzed data on machine performance, including voltage, current, and speed under varying loads.
• Produced a detailed final report summarizing design choices, testing results, and suggestions for future improvements.
Electrical Engineering Intern
Auto-clean, Auckland, New Zealand
October 2020 – November 2022
During my internship, I worked at a carwash facility where I was involved in maintaining and troubleshooting the electrical systems that powered automated washing equipment. I gained hands-on experience with motors, pumps, control panels, and wiring. I assisted in the installation of new electrical components, focusing on improving system reliability and energy efficiency. My role also involved diagnosing electrical faults, implementing repairs, and making recommendations for future upgrades. This internship sharpened my problem-solving skills and exposed me to the operational side of electrical engineering in an industrial setting.
• Contributed to energy efficiency improvements by modifying electrical circuits and optimizing system performance.
• Diagnosed and repaired electrical faults to minimize downtime and maintain system reliability.
• Collaborated with senior engineers to develop electrical schematics and upgrade plans for the automation systems.
