Additional Information

It has been amazing to go from being an unqualified teacher to becoming a qualified and provisionally registered teacher. As a teacher, I am capable of planning lessons that cater to the individual needs and interests of students. I am also able to build on the cultural knowledge children bring into the classroom environment.

I am looking for a New Entrant position because I want to upskill myself in a similar, but a different career. For a child or his/her family, starting school may be an intimidating experience and may require extra emotional support. I believe that having trained as an ECE teacher has helped equip me with the compassionate pedagogy needed to help children and families transition to school. In my role as a preschool teacher, I am familiar with the NZ School Curriculum as well as documents such as the Tataiako and Tapaasa.

My knowledge may not be perfect, but I am confident in my ability to learn, take advice from my mentors, and grow.
