  • Reefer technician attending to Refrigerated Containers “Reefers” used in the transport of perishable and frozen goods onboard sea going vessels.
  • Pre-trip inspection fault finding repair and maintenance of empty reefer containers at the depot, this includes repairs and maintenance to electrical, electronic and refrigeration systems.
  • Standby technician on call attending to faults/breakdowns of full reefer containers at the port terminal, client premises and vessels in port.

Use of power tools, Drilling machine, angle grinder, arc welding Reading of electrical faults by reading of electrical wiring and schematic diagrams Testing and replacing of faulty electrical components including two and three phase motors, contactors and transformers
  • Electronics: Scada and plcs Tracing of electronic faults on P.C. boards and minor repairs Testing and Replacing of faulty electronic P.C. boards, microprocessors, thermistors, sensors and pressure switches.
  • Reefer cold treatment/marketing -involved in reefer cold treatment, specific country protocols - viewing of actual downloads, submission to PPECB, starting of protocols. -liasing with clients and marketing department, of adjustments to setpoints and vent settings on full reefers. - assist in claims queries.
  • Altogether this year during the reefer season I brought a total number of 1500 cold treatment reefers into protocol and shipped, destination countries include: China Korea Thailand Mauritius India on the above daily monitoring was done and checked, daily downloads carried out.
