Working with Tamariki has always come naturally to me , since a very young age.
As soon as i was able in college i studied pregnancy and childcare.
I then went on to broaden my skills by working in food and hospitality where i quickly gained management roles but best of all where i learnt many cooking skills and how to cater for plenty. Hospitality taught me many things but was not my final destination.
I found myself working as a preschool relief teacher at my daughters preschool ~ back in my element , with the tamariki.
From here i went on to have my 3rd baby and have since then worked from home developing my own business which has now launched and can happily hum away in the background which frees up my time again to work once again with Tamariki , where i feel my skills and passions suit most.
Kia Ora
I am writing to apply for the part time postion 9am~1pm available at Te Kohanga Reo O Te Akau.
I first brought my daughter Layce~Taimana to Te Akau Kohanga 12 years ago , I knew no Reo apart from counting to ten , and my colors. Today I can almost korero with the Tamariki confidently and hope to one day be fluent as the Reo is incredibly impotant to me as I need to be able to pass it down to my tamariki, not just the Reo but the Maori tikanga. It was within the walls of Te Akau that i learnt the Reo i know today as i do my best learning while being hands on so i know the reo will continue to flow but am also willing to do any courses necessary to help improve this.
Apart from the reo aspect i think i bring many skills that would be beneficial in this role. Iv previously worked with tamariki before and have Wha nga Tamariki of my own. I also have a hospitality background making me a great all~rounder for kihini duties too :)
