I oversee clinical governance at WFA, responsibilities include:

  • Governance framework – Three years ago I established and now chair and facilitate the weekly Medical Advisory Council (MAC) to provide governance over key clinical decisions and clinical direction.
  • Reporting - Lead reporting to WFA Clinical Governance Committee (CGC - board sub-committee) Adopted HQSC Clinical Governance Framework to help guide the organisation
  • Clinical Risk Management – Identify and prioritise clinical risks and ensure plans to mitigate risk are effective. Audits provide assurance that controls are effective
  • Clinical Audit - Produce and implement annual audit plan and manage frontline audit team
  • Policy and Procedure development - I produced and implemented the Infection Prevention and Control and medications management framework and continue to oversee audits required for legislative compliance
