Participates as an effective member of Anatomical Pathology Services team,to provide quality and safe pathology service that ensures timely,accurate results to pathology laboratory users.

Expert in the Specimen receipt,documentation,registration, Grossing of specimens(simple transfers),

Tissue processing,Embedding, Microtomy ,Routine H&E staining,Special staining ,Immunohistochemistry and Quality Control.

Performing other technical and operational duties that involves the quality and safety of the efficient and effective operation of the laboratory service.

• Receiving and processing samples before sending it for testing
• Triage duties that include separating pre-sorted, urgent and routine samples and samples referred from other laboratories
• Aliquot the samples if required
• Print barcode and label for samples using CMS and ULTRA software
• Assign specific codes for the tests requested
• Deliver the samples to specific departments for testing.

• Ensuring operational procedures and SOP are following correctly for maintain high quality lab results.

• Teaching and supervising under graduate students
• Specimen processing in the laboratory for practical tests
• Maintaining specimen data, student details and staff information
• Updating new information and schemes
• Conducting theory and practical lessons
• Reviewing experiments before giving them to students and maintain laboratory equipments
• Assist students during practical sessions.

• Perform technical laboratory functions including microbiology, haematology and urine analysis
• Maintain laboratory equipment and supplies
• Report test results following clinical protocols
• Receiving, labelling and analysing samples
• Processing of samples according to standard procedures
• Record all data and results in specified forms.

• Perform immunohistochemical procedures including handling, storage of probes and antibodies
• Mount, label and distribute prepared microscopic slides to pathologists
• Processing histopathological and cytology specimens including Pap tests, fine needle aspiration and non gynaecological specimens
• Provide customer service to questions directed to the laboratory.
