I am warm and caring person, who is ambitious and enthusiastic about my career. I am always keen to further develop and learn new skills, maintaining a professional manner at all times.
Since a young age, I always wanted to become a nurse and thoroughly enjoy caring for individuals of all ages, families, groups and communities. I strive to achieve the best possible quality of life for patients, regardless of disease or disability by meeting the physical, emotional and cultural needs of the patients and their families.
I see myself as a valuable resource ensuring patients' rights are maintained and I am prepared to be their advocate should the need arise.
Committed to meeting the needs of the people whom I work alongside also, I contribute to providing an environment that is positive, organized and calm; ensuring that the values and culture of the organization I work for are portrayed and upheld.
During my time at Northaven, I transitioned into the unit co-ordinator role within the Psychogeriatric unit. During my time in this role, the unit went from a 20 bed to a 42 bed unit.
Nature of the job and shifts varied a lot.
I was usually contacted on short notice to cover shifts within various rest-homes within the Nelson and Richmond area.
