I am a devoted and reliable person with excellent childcare and communication skills.
I am trustworthy and focused on being receptive to the individual needs of the people I have worked with.
I am passionate about working with children and their families, encouraging them to develop their learning, using tools incorporated in to play. I am hard working, enthusiastic and compassionate.
After a break from working to focus on my health, and to start my own family, I have used my skills from being a Nanny in my everyday life, when raising my children and running my household.
Sole-Charge/Shared Care of a one to two year old girl. My duties are;
- Meal prep and cooking for the child
- Nappy changing
- Getting her ready for outings
- Tidying up after her
- Nap times, walking her to sleep and then around during her nap, monitoring sleep
I take her on outings most mornings, using public transport (bus). I am quite confident taking her buggy/pram on the bus. We go to places like playgrounds and parks, Te Papa, the library, a weekly local playgroup, on playdates and swimming.
My hours were part time.
Sole-Charge of three to five year old twins, a girl and a boy. My tasks were;
- Sole-Charge for full days, daytime entertainment/learning
- Kindergarten pick ups
- Meal prep, cooking dinner for the family
- Bath and bedtime routine, teeth, night nappies, stories etc
- Light housework tasks, washing, dishes, sweeping
We would often go swimming weekly, as the twins loved it. We would also go on other outings via public transport (bus, train) to the local libraries, the zoo, playgrounds, Te Papa (museum), trampoline parks and to Junglerama (an indoor activity centre for children).
My hours were part time.
Sole-Charge of a four year old boy. His mother traveled for work, and when she would go overseas I would work over night as well. My duties included;
- Meal prep, cooking and feeding
- Morning routine, breakfast, teeth brushing, getting dressed
- Bath and bedtime routine
- Light housework tasks
I would take him on outings, using a wide range of public transport (bus, train, cable car). We would visit places like Te Papa (museum), the zoo, the library, gardens and parks, playgrounds, swimming together (both at the beach and at the swimming pool), trampoline parks and Junglerama/Chipmunks (an indoor activity centre for children).
Over nights I would be Sole-Charge.
My hours were part time (except when the nanny mum was away).
I trained with this family of three boys under six. My duties were;
- Taking the eldest to school and picking him up
- Sole-Charge of the two youngest one day a week (including taking them on outings)
- Making school lunches, dinners and other meals
- Bathtime and bed time routines
- Household chores such as dishes, washing, vacuuming
Once my training placement had ended, I was hired for the school holidays. My duties during the holidays were full time Sole-Charge.
The places we went for outings were Te Papa (museum), the zoo, to a weekly playgroup, playgrounds and to Junglerama (an indoor activity centre for children).
Communication
I believe communication is an important skill to have in any role I am a confident communicator Most of my work experience has been with young children and their families I like to speak to the child/ren in a calm and clear way, making sure they understand what I am saying I also enjoy communicating with the parents (both written and verbal) about their child/ren and their development, what they did during the day
Adaptable
I am flexible with my routine I can adapt to plan changes calmly and without fuss or stress
I follow routines that are set, as a Nanny this was important to maintain continuity of care for the children and I believe it is important in other careers too
