It was always my passion to join the NZ police force when i left school but decided that I would be better off getting involved with the community and gaining some life experience before i looked to apply. I believe my involvement in the community and my employment in a community facility has given me that experience and the connections that will help me on my journey.
I have left my role at the Motueka Recreation Centre to focus on my fitness level and the process of applying to the NZ police.
During this time i was responsible for the planning and delivery of a number of youth/ adult sport activities within a school environment and in the facility (Motueka Recreation Centre) I was also part of a team that delivered a number of community events over the summer period. On many occasions i had to think quick and problem solve as dealing with youth and members of the public always came with challenges. I work well within a team and enjoy a challenge and can adapt quickly to situations thrown my way.
I have been in sole charge of a multi purpose facility acting as fire warden, first aider and was responsible for lock up.
I was involved with Cricket World Cup held at Saxton Stadium as a fire warden and managing people eg: clearing egress, smoking
I have been involved with sport from an early age playing Roller Hockey for NZ and as part of the Huia Ruby Club.
Introducted to the Motueka Recreation Centre from an early age then being employed i have been well connected to the community across all ages. I believe I am a good role model, i'm honest, reliable have good time management and look forward to my new direction in life.
