Summary

He Uri Nō Te Whakatōhea me Te Ūpokorehe Dedicated to serving New Zealand's healthcare sector, I currently lead as the Clinical Chief of Allied Health at Te Aka Whai Ora, focusing on enhancing patient safety, workforce development, and service delivery. Central to my role is mentoring others, a responsibility I cherish deeply. My career in health system leadership spans a range of pivotal roles, demonstrating a national impact beyond my contributions as a Māori leader. As the lead Māori advisor/manager for major ambulance services in New Zealand, I've driven key projects and workforce enhancements, emphasizing cultural safety and inclusivity. In governance, I've shaped healthcare advancements, notably as the inaugural chair of the Paramedic Council and acting CEO, where I steered organisational development and strategic direction. My experience extends to high-stakes environments like rescue operations and academia, always with a focus on patient care and outcomes. This diverse background, combined with my roles in clinical and workforce development, positions me as a versatile leader capable of driving national initiatives and fostering excellence across the New Zealand health system. Passionate about health equity and workforce development, I founded a charity - Ngā Ringa Ngaio Whakaora and remain committed to volunteering, especially mentoring youth from underserved communities. My approach is deeply influenced by te ao Māori values of manaakitanga, kaitiakitanga and whanaungatanga.
