Affiliations

  • Volunteering with the Garden to Table program through local schools. This year my flatmates and I are volunteering at schools every Friday to work with kids in years 4 to 6. Teaching them about how to grow and maintain a garden and showing them how to cook with these ingredients. The aim of this project is to teach younger children essential life skills which provide them with knowledge about a cost effective and sustainable alternative to cooking.
  • In my third year of university I took the initiative to establish a dress rental company "Palace rentals" through social media. This company has contributed to my knowledge of digital media marketing and entrepreneurship and has allowed me to develop skills such as organizational skills, good communication, and brand-customer relationship development skills. Running this company locally allowed me to incorporate sustainability into this business by minimizing carbon miles and reducing the need for transporting products nationwide.
  • 2024 MART308 class representative: In this role I am responsible for being the key communicator between students, lecturers, and tutors. This key role allows me to provide guidance to my peers and to be a voice for them to report back any feedback to head of the department. This role has taught me valuable leadership skills and the importance of effective communication to avoid conflict and ensure everything is running smoothly.
