A life well lived with lots of experience in many different roles has culminated in a Practice Manager offering more than 14 years of experience working for Ocean Dental. This has taught me the skills of interaction with clients, professionals and all levels of society.
I have loved my time with the staff that have come and gone, but after and nursing my father in the final stages of his life, I have realised I would like to return to caring for others in a similar situation. My nursing qualifications have all expired now, but the knowledge is still there and look forward to sharing that care and knowledge with those I can.
There is so much that I am responsible for here at Ocean Dental. I often laugh and say - if it's not a dentists job, then it's mine! This includes but not limited to:
After my husband died, I felt unable to return to nursing, so worked in retail enjoying the interaction with people and helping them find the thing that they needed. I drew on my previous careers and education a lot and really enjoyed my time here.
I was the only nurse here for the first 3 of these years, and then as the work load had increased I helped to train another nurse. We were responsible for family planning, childhood vaccination's, health screening, travel vaccinations, and much more! I left this job to care for my terminally ill husband and return to NZ
This was first job as a qualified Midwife after training and so all the duties of a Midwife in a busy East London Hospital, with the last 2 years being focused on Breastfeeding support and information giving to both new families, and professionals.
I began with a course (called Discipleship Training), and faith based course that involved voluntary work abroad in the Philippines. I then stay on to work in a staff capacity (unpaid) and further visited Indonesia.

I just love a day in the garden, or at the sewing machine, creating and making something to bless others with. This is my quiet sanctuary and the way I relax.
