• Producing detailed reports outlining key issues and proposed solutions
• Analyzing processes, policies and plans with issues risen by tangata whenua and resource consent applicants with careful approach in order to form a continuity of relationships

Have advanced knowledge and experience working in te ao Māori, Māori entities hapu and iwi, with excellent practical working knowledge of titanga Māori and implementing research models, frameworks based on Kaupapa Māori, matuanga Māori (Māori knowledge systems) methodologies. The Principal Māori Advisor will be well-networked and able to build and maintain relationships with a range of Māori landowning entities and stakeholders.

Co-develops and implements processes for investing funding Māori research programme.

• Ensures Māori-centred, Kaupapa Māori, tikanga and values led research approaches with Māori researchers, organisations, and communities to build strong and positive partnerships.

• Leads co-design approaches to foster successful and long-term research collaborations in line with Māori research strategy.

Provide advice and direction regarding B+LNZ relationships with Māori levy payers

• Advising on Māori agribusiness extension, extension and capability development of extension programmes for Māori farm businesses and Māori levy paying entities.
• Identification of key Whenua Māori and Farmer issues, needs and priorities.
• Development and delivery of extension and engagement programmes and activities within the Māori
• Managing and maintaining relationships with key regional stakeholders.
• Demonstrating, and supporting capability development across the National Extension Team,
• Excellence in farmer needs identification and stakeholder partnership and relationship management.

• provide expert input to multiple areas of the Freshwater Farm Plan Programme
• provide oversight in a governance role through the multi-agency Freshwater Farm Plan Steering Group.
