Coordinator

Early Childhood Resource Centre Creative Junk

For the last 19 years I’ve been the coordinator at creative junk who’s been in the community for 43 years.

The organisation is a not for profit early childhood resource centre which i do a variety of different roles in.

Not only do I organise them, I am the sole person who does the work shops & community events.

I’ve Partnered with a wide variety of places and people starting with teachers. I provide guidance and support to help them succeed in their roles.

Along side working with teachers I Engage with students, with specialized play and educational activities to help boost their learning.

I assist struggling students to maintain progress levels by working long side them and helping them focusing on their needs and help Redirect them using positive behaviour Support and led my activities that help develop physical, emotional, and social growth.

Ive partnered up with lots of community events such as children’s day, kids fest, Santa parade, Richmond community gardens and the city council helping connect people with valuable resources and learning opportunities outside the classroom setting.

with all of that creative junk is a shop where individuals can walk in to purchase supplies for any purpose. I coordinate the day to day running of the centre, along side managing and supporting the volunteers to keep the centre at a smooth functional environment

I have skills at working independently and collaboratively in a team environment and being Highly Self-motivated, with a strong sense of personal responsibility.

I have a passion for working and being around children, I’m a mother of 3 myself and have 3 grandchildren who I adore with my whole Heart.

My strong points are being able to be patient with variety of different personalities starting from the ones who can’t speak yet, retirees and all inbetween.

I’ve learnt a lot along the way in this career with being an emotional support person. And helping individuals cope with their mental health challenges. some of this is easily done through a creative way with art therapy that I have another passion for as to why I’ve been working at creative junk for 19 years, that explains their name.

I feel after 19 years it’s my time to explore different ways I’m able to help people. I’d ideally like to be able to help more smaller groups or spend more one on one time with individuals to create a positive change to one individual at a time. I’m always open to learning and adapting to new things or places and will do my best to add value to your team!
