With a background as a Pou Tiaki at Hutt City Council and as a Facilitator for Youthline Wellington, I have honed my communication and interpersonal skills while actively engaging with diverse communities. Passionate about making a positive impact, I bring strong organizational abilities, adaptability, and a commitment to continuous growth.   • My duties include:
  • Customer Services
  • Booking Enquiries
  • Payments (Rates, Dog Registration and Community Room Bookings)
  • Assisting with Toy Library, issuing of toys to community members
  • Assisting and supporting the Library, which includes issuing of books, helping customers look up items, collecting reservations
  • During my time at the Hub, I have also built relationships with our Partners Kokiri
  • Marae and support them on a Thursday afternoon within the programme of Tihei
  • Rangatahi, this is so when our Rangatahi come into the Hub they know a member they can interact and be comfortable with
  • In my time also within the Hub, I have started a children’s pre school programme which is called “Dancing with Daikyn” where my numbers have increased over this time and I see many familiar faces attending
  • Within the last four months I have volunteered to be the Health and Safety
  • Representative of the Wainuiomata Hub, where I attend quarterly committee meetings
  • This is to ensure the safety and well being of our staff and also to verify the safety of our Community.

Accomplishments

    During my time at Hutt City Council, I pursued training in emergency management, which proved beneficial during the New Zealand response to Cyclone Gabrielle earlier this year. I had the privilege of working inside the Bunker alongside the safety team, where my responsibilities included making welfare check calls to the dedicated frontline staff who were actively supporting the community. This experience was truly incredible, and it is something that I will never forget.
