Work History

Technical Field Representative

Horticentre
11.2024 - Current

I have a role to improve and increase the visibility of Horticentre in Central Otago. I have a free reign to interact with existing and potential clients and look at opportunities for the company going forward. I have a list of clients which I am growing on a weekly basis.

Technical Field Representative

PGG Wrightson TFR
04.2022 - 08.2024
  • I took over a list of clients based out of the Alexandra office which had been mostly serviced by a senior TFR for the company. I believe I have done this very well, retaining a large amount of this book. I have grown some clients turn-over and gained a few clients back which has been very rewarding and pleasing. I have been able to assist some of the younger TFR team members with advice etc which has been a great learning, as it reminds me of where I was when I first started out in this role.

PGG Wrightson TFR
09.2021 - 03.2022
  • I took a transfer from the Canterbury team to the Otago team, based out of the Kurow Store, looking after clients in the Hakataramea Valley and Oamaru areas. I have been asked to grow the turn-over of the region by being pro-active in calling on clients in the region.

PGG Wrightson TFR
09.2019 - 09.2021
  • I was in the field based in North Canterbury (Culverden) calling on farmers advising and challenging them on all fascists of agriculture. I was responsible for predominately sheep and beef clients but did have a couple of large corporate clients on my book also. I had a small number of Dairy clients who I enjoyed advising also.

Board Member Canterbury Country Cricket Association
06.2017 - 11.2020
  • I was voted onto the governance board of Canterbury Country Cricket at a crucial time for the association, when Covid was upon the country and things were changing very quickly with rules, expectations, and funds.
  • It was a very interesting time, and we all had to be aware of what Sports NZ wanted from us. We worked very closely together to vote on what we believed was best for the association.
  • I travelled around many of the clubs and spoke to their boards and players, advising what we were required to do and what changes we had made for CCCA.
  • I was during this time, asked to coach the U15 representative side and select the U17 side.

South Island Sales Manager

Jarvis Trading Ltd
09.2018 - 08.2019
  • My role is to secure orders from Merchants and Growers for their requirements for packaging within their business. I call on Merchants and sell them bags (potato and onion) and woolpacks. With growers I explain and get designs of new packaging available to them. I promote the best fit product for the crop grown and best fit for market.

Technical Manager, Agronomy

Ravensdown NZ
01.2012 - 08.2018
  • My role was to oversee 9 field-based representatives in the region from Christchurch up to the top of the South Island, with all the shareholders in this catchment also.
  • Responsibilities:
  • To give rigid infield and classroom training sessions to all customer facing staff members on Agronomy that can be used in a wide range of farming situations.
  • To provide technical backup and support to all staff and shareholders where-ever required
  • Monitor all sales in the region.
  • Prepare sales forecasts and budgets for the region and individual staff members.
  • To service large accounts directly (both farmers and contractors)
  • Monitor seed and Ag Chem trial sites around my area.
  • Achievements:
  • Successfully trained 7 field staff on Ravensdown Agrochemical range and suggested use rates and situations, alongside 6 office-based staff members. This included the introduction of 2 new herbicides and 2 new fungicides.
  • Successfully got the CSI (Central South Island) team to achieve budget for Ag Chem in one of the driest years on record (2013)
  • Gained the business of 2 new contracting firms within the region.
  • Gained the respect of the Customer Centre to be their first person to call for any technical issues they had on Agronomy issues.
  • Gained the respect of the Ravensdown Store managers, giving them confidence to call me regarding questions they may have on any technical information they may require.
  • Completed a few qualification papers at both Massey University and Lincoln University
