I am a creative and reliable Case Manager with a focus on employment. I use varied life experiences to achieve the best results for my clients to enable them to get themselves off the benefit permanently and have a more independent and sustainable future for themselves and their whanau. It turns out that no matter what I have done in the last few years, the employment training I had so many years ago has kicked straight back in. At the beginning of my career I was immersed in the Charles Rapp Strengths model and I still incorporate those teachings into my day to day life now. I am lucky enough to have a good insight into self employment with my partner being a self employed Jade Carver here on the Coast for the last 20+ years. This has also given me an inside understanding of the local gold mining industry which has been useful in dealing clients.

Employed as a General Case Manager I was approached to take on a caseload in the role of an Employment Case Manager while completing my induction. I believe this was due in part to my ability to have meaningful employment conversations with clients stemming from my experience in the employment sector.
Some of my skills and responsibilities are:
· Maintaining and managing a caseload of up to 115 clients according to cohort eligibility
· Providing employment assistance to all clients, including referring to other contracted services for CV’s, upskilling clients via our referral process and keeping up to date on local vacancies and employer situations.
· Contacting employers to confirm client circumstances.
· Applying for 5K to work and Transition to work applications.
· Facilitating and assisting with the Korero Mahi Seminars
· Cooperating internally to achieve great results for our clients.
· I also have several Emergency Housing clients on my caseload and I cover Front of House regularly, highlighting my flexibility in helping others.
As the first point of contact for the Greymouth/West Coast ACC office, I provided guidance and education to clients transitioning from paper forms to online interactions. I followed up on queries from both clients and staff, managed the printing and distribution of internal and external documents including policy updates and organized meetings with clients and stakeholders. I handled phone calls from the national call queue, redirecting them as needed and dealt with all secure file requests and transport. Additionally, I maintained the data records to support Case Managers and was responsible for implementing Covid 19 procedures.
In my front line role at VTNZ, I handled all data entry for WOF and COF inspections and practical driver license tests. I was responsible for ordering and managing stock of controlled documents such as WOF and COF books, Temporary driver licenses and MTA vouchers. Acting on behalf of NZTA I assisted customers with a range of queries and resolved issues related to vehicles and endorsements. During my time at VTNZ we transferred from paper inspections to computer/tablet entry so I was required to assist in the training and continued IT support for our five Vehicle Inspectors. I was responsible for filing and record keeping according to Government standards and providing reports, I assisted with police and customers in serious crash cases and vehicle recertifications.
I was responsible for conducting onsite drug and alcohol screenings for employers across the West Coast, ensuring the accuracy and timely submission of all reports while maintaining the chain of custody. I developed relationships with local employers to raise awareness of workplace drug and alcohol testing and arranged presentations to advise on contract policies and legalities. Available 24/7, I responded quickly for post-incident testing and worked autonomously to manage schedules, random testing, stock levels and vehicle maintenance for the self contained “drug van”. Additionally, I participated in ongoing Health and Safety training and development.
