Dunedin Tank 4 API653 Offstream | Client: Z Energy | Time: 03/2025 - Present

Aurecon was engaged by Z Energy to complete the offstream inspection and services of Tank 4 in their Dunedin terminal. This project was raised to obtain compliance and operation certificate on this tank for the following 15 years.

Daniel is the project engineer and primary client contact for this project. This role involves:

  • Manage resources, budget and timeline.
  • Facilitate weekly client meeting to provide progress report.
  • Attend the API653 inspection of the tank.
  • Complete engineering assessment for the tank against API653 requirements.
  • Complete detailed design for works required to bring tank to compliance.
  • Provide contractor scope of works and construction support for the works required.


API Tank Assessment | Client: Quantem | Time: Various

Aurecon was engaged by Quantem to review their tanks' offstream reports and provide engineering assessment against API 653.

This has been a reoccurring project, and the tanks assessed by Daniel include:

  • Mt Maunganui: Tank 21, 22, 34, 35, 36
  • Wellington: Tank 16

Daniel was the project control for these project, this role involves:

  • Engage with Quantem to define project scope and draft fee proposal.
  • Complete tank assessment and manage internal resource for addition scope of works
  • Manage project variations
  • Manage project timeline and budget tracking


Project Sybil | Client: NZOSL | Time: 07/2024 - Present

NZOSL on behalf of BP engaged Aurecon to assist with their project to expand their storage capacity in Dunedin. This project involved the design and construction of a 4ML Diesel tank and the conversion of an existing Diesel tank to Jet-A1 service.

Daniel was the primary designer of the 4ML Diesel tank. This role involved completing detailed design to ensure the tank complies with API650, working closely with drafters to develop tank detailed design drawings, and draft contractor scope of works for the construction phase of the project.
