Secondment role to backfill Head of Communications seconded to Department of Internal Affairs for Three Waters transition project.
Leading a team of 10 marketing and communications professionals to provide customer, community and internal communications, outreach events and education. Development of the five year strategy to identify future improvements and increased community outreach, developing behaviour change campaigns and acting as Public Information Manager on the incident team in crisis events.
Newly developed role to lead a team of stakeholder liaison advisors, providing best practice stakeholder and community engagement to support all stages of the life cycle for large scale infrastructure projects. Proactively identifying stakeholder needs, conducting consultations to inform decision making and consenting, planning mitigations for risks and providing advice and support to a range of internal stakeholders as a subject matter expert.
This role involved communications and events for stakeholders, māori engagement and elected member engagement with local government.
In 2023 I established and led the Flood Recovery stakeholder engagement after the flooding and cyclone caused significant asset damage.
Short term contract role working remotely to support key messaging for internal communications particularly in relation to team engagement, H&S and Covid-19 updates.
Reporting to the CEO and working closely with the Head of Fundraising, my remit was to increase awareness, engagement and support for the Foundation with the aim to raise increased funds from individuals, grants and corporate partners to support neurological research.
While in this role I completed a re-brand and a website redevelopment project as well as implementing new digital engagement and fundraising initiatives. My objective was to establish an engagement strategy for the Foundation to engage with different market segments and expand reach and engagement across different touchpoints, leading to increased revenue generation and to provide a sustainable future supporter base. Leading a small team, my role covered marketing strategy development, fundraising and awareness campaigns, communications including our quarterly magazine and public relations, community fundraising, digital, social media, in person and online events and educational outreach while identifying new opportunities to increase engagement and revenue.
Within this role I was acting CEO in the absence of the CEO and contributed significantly to the development of the five year strategy, annual business planning and the implementation of Statement of Service Performance reporting.
As head of department I led a team of 6 direct reports to manage marketing campaigns, digital and communications to build brand awareness, PR coverage and internal engagement, while increasing visitor attendance and revenue.

Based in Sydney, leading a team of 6, responsible for marketing and communications for all Australia and NZ and supporting the various regionally based sales teams to achieve revenue targets in excess of AU$160 million p/a. This role followed on from a secondment from APN News & Media from April 2012 when I was first placed within this business unit of APN News & Media.
The Fast-Track Executive Management Development program was set up to develop future leaders for APN News & Media across its offices in Australia and New Zealand. This role consisted of acting as an internal consultant and project manager on commercial and senior level strategic improvement projects throughout the APN business in both countries for 4 month placements. This role involved working closely with senior management including CEO's, COO's and GM's of various APN business units.
School of Graduate Studies – Sole charge Marketing Communications role. Managed internal and external communications including PR, EDM and web content development; supported marketing initiatives of central University Marketing Team, planned and managed small & large events including expositions of postgraduate work, event advertising, sponsorships, budget and marketing plan development, while also managing stakeholder relationship with the Postgraduate Students Association.
Contract to coordinate from Auckland an off-shore training program in Bahrain. Involved event management, international student enrollment and communication, budget management, liaison with professors & guest lecturers, compilation of training documentation; and travel & accommodation management.
Assisted central marketing team in the recruitment of new students through copy editing and art directing for publications, branding, large scale events, internal communications, digital marketing including social media and email marketing.
