I have over 10 years experience working in a mineral extraction plant. I can make decisions when needed and my problem solving ability is one of my best assets. I am very safety conscientious and take the health and safety of my staff and colleagues very seriously. I am a fast learner and enjoy being challenged.
I am currently running my own business and it has kept me employed for the past 7 years and i consider it to be successful. The time has come for me to go on another employment adventure. I have for along time wanted to do mining work in Australia as I have alot of ex work mates that have gone over there and been successful.
Being a plant Operator for me, was extremely forfulling as most days i would be using my skills and knowledge to solve problems or make the plant run better.
As Macraes Gold mine was drive in drive out the days were very long and that was one of the reasons for the break away from it. FIFO appeals to me due to the ability to get plenty of rest in between shifts.
I wanted to try my hand at running my own business. I discovered there was a market for a handyman in Dunedin. So that became my business.
I was solely responsible for marketing, book work, seeking out new customers, viewing potential jobs and then writing up a quote for the customer.
Not to long into this venture i focused mainly on deck and fence building.
My business has developed a good name in my town and i often now have people contacting me instead of me having to find them.
