Manage and oversee the End-to-End daily operations including Sales, Marketing and Manufacturing planning process

• Contribute to the Material Planning process as well as overseeing the execution thereof.
• Ensure that the Daily Production / Manufacturing Schedule is aligned to ensure delivery is in line with customer requirements and expectations including costs, quality and time parameters.

Manufacture of diverse road, mining and construction safety products including but not limited to, Plastic Injection and Roto Moulding products

• Sign-Off of the manufacturing schedule.
• Monitor the daily production and ensure timeous product delivery to customers.
• Oversee the entire end to end manufacturing process for relevant industry including scheduling shifts, assigning tasks, resolving customer complaints.
• Accountable for Raw Material Management, Raw Material ordering (R2mil pm), Stock control (R4mil pm)
• Managing the reuse of waste by-products for recycling in certain materials

Quality Assurance and Control

• Monitor the execution and maintenance of the operational QA Framework of practices, processes, policies and procedures, standards and controls.
• Oversee quality assurance and advise on corrective actions where necessary.

Infrastructure Maintenance

• Ensure that all Infrastructure and machinery are maintained to ensure optimal capacity usage and availability including managing load shedding schedules and the use of generators during these times.

SARTSMA framework, initiatives and communications

• Monitor the execution and maintenance within the South African Road Traffic Safety Management Framework of practices, processes, policies and procedures, standards and controls for application across all products.
• Monitor and ensure compliance across industry standards.
• Monitor the implementation and impact of mitigations and the corrective actions providing and advice and solutions where required.
• Building awareness on safety and the correct use of the different products across mining, construction and road industries through our blog, social media platforms and industry forums

General Business, Financial and People Management

• Actively participate in strategic planning and budgeting processes developing and implementing strategies to improve, streamline and optimise operational efficiency, customer satisfaction, and profitability. Develop annual budgets based on forecasted revenue targets.
• Advise leadership on best practices related to operations management including process re-engineering initiatives, Research design and development as well as production for the different road products.
• Identify opportunities to reduce costs while maintaining quality standards. Analyse financial data such as budget reports, sales records, profit and loss statements to identify areas for improvement or growth potential.
• Manage cost drivers and take the necessary action to mitigate financial risk and address variances and discrepancies.
• Ensure that the right people capacity is in place and manage employee performance through effective and goal directed people leadership.
• Manage staff recruitment and training, empower employees to achieve key performance indicators.

Adherence to the Quality, Safety and Environmental Standards

• Ensure strict adherence to Quality, Safety and Environmental policies and standards.
• Enforcing all health and safety regulations, policies, and requirements at all times to guarantee a secure safe work environment resulting in zero harm in the workplace.
• Ensure the prescribed incident reporting procedures in case of accidents are followed.
• Staying updated with relevant business information, policies, processes, and procedures. Enforce compliance with legislative and statutory requirements, as well as Good Manufacturing Practices. Overseeing the workshop housekeeping and cleanliness is maintained.
• Training: Attend and enforce the implementation of learnings from training sessions related to Quality and Health and Safety within the industry

I started this business from scratch in 2008. Due to BBE legislation and to bolster manufacturing capacity sold the business to Venture Plastics Distributors. My duties continued exactly as they were, these responsibilities are listed under my current employment. In summary, product development through research and trial and error. These products are still being manufactured and sold by Venture Plastics Distributors into the market today.
