Accomplishments

As a mother of seven now adult children thriving in society, I stepped into voluntary roles including facilitating a group who fed those homeless and in need on the streets of Wellington City from 2016 to 2020. We set up a table every week at the bottom of Tory street supplying hot meals, tea and coffee and sweet treats to all who came to our table. All food was donated through different individuals throughout our city as there was no funding. Our team consisted of volunteers who gave up time every week to serve at our table.

I have also worked voluntary in our Church op shop as well as voluntary work in our church before being on a flexi wage contract for 30 weeks which ended 3 November 2023, I am now volunteering again because I love to help others and believe we as a church are making a positive impact in our community to those from all walks of life.

I also facilitate a women's group once a week although Christian based is open to all women. The heart is to connect women who struggle with depression, anxiety. loneliness and abuse in a safe space to walk out of this journey connected, supported and walking through healing in a confidential space where they feel heard and valued.

My heart is to see others succeed in life, not being dictated by past experiences but finding ways to bring change not only in their own lives but those in the generations after them. Its possible through taking one step at a time with the support of others who will encourage and uplift others

Additional Information

I am a people person who uses my life experiences to help others where I see a need. I am committed, strong in my values and who I am, reliable and always willing to learn. My heart is to see our communities thrive, and be a part of that in some capacity.
