  • Lower Hutt Hospital: Perioperative (9 weeks) Skills: Completed rotations throughout the operating theatre, PACU, DSU and SAU. Developed in-depth knowledge of surgical procedures, equipment, basic airway management, aseptic technique and infection control. Enhanced expertise in, risk assessments, admission and discharge processes, clinical interventions of complications, patient education and support in pain management, nausea control, and post-operative wound care.
  • Boulcott Theatre: Lower Hutt (6 weeks) Skills: Developed experience in the operating theatre, PACU and DSU, deepening my understanding of the patient care process. I managed medical equipment, admitted and discharged patients, collaborated with the multidisciplinary team and adhered to strict sterilisation practices to maintain safety and achieve optimal patient outcomes.
  • Lower Hutt Hospital: General Surgery and Gynaecology (4 weeks) Skills: Conducted thorough patient assessments, including risk evaluations and pain management, which advanced my clinical judgment and critical thinking. Developed expertise in safe medication administration, wound care, identifying signs of deterioration and advocating for patients when their needs required immediate interventions.
