I am a creative and dedicated Early Childhood Educator with a passion for supporting tamariki to feel happy, safe and free to explore their world. I have extensive knowledge of excellent teaching practise and really enjoy finding a genuine connection with tamariki. For me, ngā tamariki are always placed at the centre of his or her learning journey and I consider that I am also a life long learner. I am compassionate and kind and always take time for tamariki, whanau and colleagues. I believe Te Reo Maori is a unique and important part of the New Zealand learning environment and I seek opportunities to further my knowledge of Tikanga Māori. I believe my greatest strengths are kindness and being a good listener. I love using nature to inspire ngā tamariki.
Here I work with the 2-3 olds in our Tūī Room fostering trusting, warm relationships with ngā tamariki and whanau. My first dive into Early Childhood has been wonderful. For me, having a truly child centred approach without the NZ Curriculum subjects to teach, really feeds my teaching passion!
I rehearsed and performed in the play. 'Sense and Sensibility' and then in the play 'Appropriate'.
I rehearsed and performed in the play 'Di, Rose and Viv' at the Pumphouse Theatre.
Here I was skilled at working independently and collaboratively in a team environment. Ngā tamariki were from a diverse range of cultural backgrounds. It was always a pleasure to learn about and welcome new students and their whanau.
