After completing a Bachelors of Science the opportunity to work as a Laboratory Technician on the Puhoi to Warkworth Motorway was offered. As a quick learner establishing myself was easy and lead to the responsibility of running the laboratory after 5 months. This challenge allowed expansion on leadership and time management skills. The chance to aid in the geotechnical field work arose which has added more skills. Towards the completion of the motorway the opportunity to help on the Auckland Regional landfill baseline ecology surveys was given. This was a fantastic experience as getting outdoors, dealing with animals and being able to positively contribute to the environment are important. Upon completion of the degree I was pursuing a career that would allow me to make difference to the environment and would love to be given a chance to do so. I am passionate about sustainability and creating a happier healthier world.
