Elliana Van Der Salm

• I look after my two younger brothers when my parents are busy on the farm. I can get them ready for school and daycare, ensuring they have a packed lunch and are clean and tidy.
• I also have started recently looking after an 8 year old boy with special needs on ocassions when the mother needs help.
• I also babysit two other children aged 4 and 7years old.

I am developing a name as a very competent babysitter in the area.

I worked closely with other farm workers to ensure we raised strong healthy calves.

This entailed working closely and collaboratively with other team members.

Keeping the pens and feeding equipment clean and sterilised.

Managing my time was very important, as this was done before and after school.

• Coaching a primary touch rugby team in the Darfield competition.
• Athletics, helping run stations for Primary schools when at the high school.
• Supported engaging, fun, and smooth-running events by helping with organization and planning events to entertain young children.

This was to help my Uncles and Aunts run sports teams

without interruptions from younger children.

Work in the farm dairy shed to harvest milk .

This requires working with different people and working as a team to ensure smooth running of the shed so as not to upset the cows.

Sometimes this requires me adapting quickly to changing conditions or unforeseen circumstances so as to keep the shed running smoothly

This also requires me to manage my time effectively to ensure it didn't interfere with my school work and sporting obligations.
