Work History

Registered Paramedic/EMT

Hato Hone St John Taupo
06.2024 - Current
  • I have worked as a registered paramedic in an EMT role for 6 months now. I have been more than ready to complete an internship and CAD with St John during this time but have been delayed with minimal opportunities being currently available. I have maintained my knowledge and skills throughout this time and work as a paramedic alongside my paramedic colleagues. I am competent and confident and hold myself to a high standard of care at all times.
  • Developed and maintained rapport with coworkers and local hospital staff to facilitate efficient patient care.
  • Enhanced team efficiency through clear communication and collaboration during high-pressure emergency situations.
  • Transferred patients safely and securely to medical facilities for continued care. I have often had to work remotely with limited resources available. At all times I have been able to work seamlessly alongside Paramedics, EMTs and First Responders to manage critically unwell patients.
  • Adapted treatment plans quickly and effectively based on changing patient conditions and reactions.
  • Assisted in training new staff by serving as a mentor and participating in volunteer training nights as well as supporting staff while they accompany us to jobs.
  • Participated in ongoing professional development opportunities such as CCE and regular training on station. I also have maintained my CPD hours whilst being registered. I frequently engage with postgraduate students on station to learn their content which I have thoroughly enjoyed.

  • Maintaining A average grades throughout my undergraduate degree despite often working 14 hour days and commuting two hours a day, to and from work.
  • Continuously improved skills through regular training sessions, continuing clinical education (CCE) and staying up-to-date on industry best practices.
