A dedicated and compassionate professional with a background in youth work, after-school care, and aged care. Currently completing a Master of Educational Psychology. My work has centered on supporting tamariki and rangatahi with diverse needs, fostering positive development, emotional well-being, and engagement in education. As a youth worker, I provided one-on-one and group support, including acting as a key worker involved in intervention planning for a young person with complex needs. My experience in after-school care further strengthened my ability to build strong, trusting relationships with tamariki and whānau, while managing behaviour and promoting social-emotional learning through structured play and routine.
My academic research focuses on the transition from early childhood education to primary school for tamariki with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD), exploring collaborative practices, child voice, and transition planning. This work reflects my commitment to inclusive, culturally responsive practice and my passion for supporting for tamariki to thrive.
