Centre Manager

Active Explorers

  • I started here as a teacher in training, and commenced my dream of studying my bachelors. Iwas incredibly passionate about this role and the children I was lucky enough to work with. I have been very successful in my teaching so far, and gained a head teacher role, prior to finishing my studies. On completion of my studies, I was offered the centre manager/curriculum leader role, I found the role one I enjoyed and thrived in. My passion is diverse team leaders and supporting the emotional wellbeing of our children. My role as curriculum leader ensured that planning and assessment was done correctly, intentionally and always asking the 'why' within my teaching, through reflection and professional development. I see this path in my career as the ultimate goal and I feel grateful everyday that I get to teach. I had the added extra of staff rostering/management, networking among our community and working with the ministry etc. to ensure all requirements are met. I left this this role due to relocating for my husbands work.

  • It was through my work at The Pier that I gained my residency here in NZ. The business is not only as the name suggests a hotel, but a thriving restaurant and bar. From day to day my roles would vary whether its ordering produce from existing suppliers or sourcing new, doing rosters, staff management, discussing menu changes with the chef and cost control. Organizing events, and group bookings, ensuring the host and entertaining all enquiries, making sure duty managers are following laws and checking food control is being done doing the tills daily, banking and payroll. Corresponding to emails along with all admin work and conversing with the owners and of course, public facing customer relations.
  • Coordinated event planning services, facilitating seamless execution of functions and conferences.
  • Developed and implemented operational procedures to improve efficiency and consistency.
