  • Ensure the effective implementation of the
    strategic plan for the provision of community health transport services; work with
    delivery teams to ensure the
    development of nationally consistent systems and processes to achieve the desired
    functional results & deliver agreed outputs.
  • Provide leadership, support
    and advice to services to help them deliver safe and community-driven health
    transport services using best practices, whilst helping to build high levels of compliance.
  • Lead by example, providing leadership, direction, mentoring and support to direct
    reports, including meaningful feedback, performance planning, management and
    development practices.
  • Build and maintain positive relationships with key internal (i.e. Area Committees
    and Enabling services) and external stakeholders (eg: government and non-government agencies) to ensure collaboration and support the achievement of Health Transport initiatives and strategies.
  • Collaboratively review and/or develop and implement, policies, systems and
    processes to support ongoing improvements and efficiencies, including those
    associated with programme administration, delivery and resource allocation,
    achieving all planned programme requirements/developments, ensuring consistent
    quality and access for New Zealand communities.
  • Oversee the recruitment and retention of the Health Shuttle team; proactively
    undertaking activities to attract, induct and support new team members and their
    effective integration into the workplace,
  • Contribute to the development of, implement and monitor annual budgets to
    ensure effective management of the relevant sections of the Community
    Programmes budget.
  • Work with Māori Advisor – Community Health, Right Care Advisor – Māori Health,
    iwi and marae - and other communities experiencing service equity issues - on
    supporting the implementation of Māori community health transport initiatives.

    profile of and ensure that the needs of the Community Health Services are met.
