Throughout the course of my high school years, I have always displayed strong written and verbal communication skills. I had many aspirations and dreams of what I would eventually achieve in my life, so when I got to University I wanted to make sure I gave myself the best chance I could to be able to continue to explore as many avenues as possible. With all this in mind, I completed a degree in Communication, majoring in Advertising.
Post Graduation, I quickly dipped my feet into the Advertising world, and whilst it taught me vital skills such as prioritisation and working to deadlines, I still had the drive for more. Which then begun my devotion to the world of Tennis. I played, coached, ran holiday programmes, managed multiple woman's teams, and worked for the national Tennis body in New Zealand. I was living my dream. But I had outgrown the position and when the time came to spread my wings and see what opportunities lay beyond the shores of New Zealand, I was not quite ready. There was more to learn here, I needed more time to grow.
So I did, I took a job in the logistics and transport industry. I would never have guessed the importance, and growth, in parcel and shipping logistics worldwide. Working at New Zealand Post has not only allowed me to grow immensely as an individual and employee, but to also gain an entirely new skill set, and open up the doors to so many more career avenues. I have shown great loyalty to the company and industry, and dedicated nearly 10 years of my life to freight and relationship management, but I am now ready to take the step in a new direction.
